Will Disney cut the short film ‘Frozen’ from the release of ‘Coco’ because of too many complaints?

The video shared on Reddit immediately attracted hundreds of thousands of views with more than 2,000 comments. Not only international ‘Coco’ fans but Vietnamese fans are also very excited about this information.

Recently, on the site Reddit, an account owner shared information about Disney cutting the short film Frozen before the official release of Coco. This person said he was an employee of the movie theater and had received official notification from Disney about this decision.

“I work at a movie theater, and we received notice that, starting next Friday, the Frozen short will no longer be shown before Coco. The content of the message is: “Please note, the movie “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” that was shown before Coco will stop after December 7. From Friday, December 8, no more clips of Olaf will be shown. With the extra 22 minutes, we would appreciate it if you could add another screening. Thank you.”

Before releasing Coco, Disney had to receive many negative comments from the audience about this bonus gift. The 21-minute length of the spinoff short film Frozen made many viewers confused and uncomfortable because they had to wait.

“I checked and rechecked my ticket to make sure I got in at the right time and with the right ticket. After that, I went back to the theater to see if I was in the right room. I went out and asked the manager to know what was going on. I stood outside and waited for Frozen to end before entering and was hit in the face by the narration. I go back”. – audience Linh Nguyen shared angrily.

This shared segment immediately attracted hundreds of thousands of views with more than 2 thousand comments. Not only international Coco fans but also Vietnamese fans are also very excited about this information.

“Support both hands and feet in cutting off those 22 minutes that can’t be swallowed. The music’s melody is bland and boring, like those truck turn signals imitating classical music. The content is also nonsense, it can’t save the music, it doesn’t leave anything in the brain. It’s like you’re traveling in the middle of June, and you haven’t had time to prepare when the northeast monsoon suddenly blows in your face, making you say, “Why is there a cold wind right now?” – a Vietnamese audience expressed support for Disney’s removal of Frozen.

Showing the short film Frozen in Coco made many people angry because they felt Disney did not respect and believe in the success of an animated film with Mexican culture. This also had a more or less negative impact on the previous Frozen film.

The wave of criticism spread on reputable film rating sites. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 26% of the audience rated the film positively. On IMDb, the sequel Frozen is only rated 4.7/10, while the original work has a score of 7.5/10.

If this information is true, hopefully, Disney’s corrective action will save them from a visible loss. Especially when Frozen 2 is about to hit audiences in 2019.
